Powertube TV to Feature GKR Motor Cars at ColorVision
In February, Tyler Willy, owner of GKR Motor Cars, came into ColorVision’s Columbia, MO location to get a color matched and mixed for a customization job at his New Bloomfield, MO shop. However, this wasn’t just any normal color match. This time it was being recorded for their upcoming series with Powertube TV!
GKR Motor Cars was founded in 2021 and launched a YouTube channel soon after to spread the word about their business. The team wanted individuals who were interested in custom work to be able to get to know them. This past fall, Tyler attended SEMA where he connected with Powertube TV, who took notice of their Youtube channel.
Soon after, GKR Motor Cars signed a contract with the network to produce 10 episodes set to air this spring. The series will showcase their customization work with their video producer, Kyle Gilleland, recording all the action!
The Columbia, MO ColorVision team was honored at the opportunity to be caught on camera assisting Tyler with his automotive paint needs. Business Development Manager, Kerry King, stepped in to help match the vibrant orange color using a PPG DigiMatch™ Spectrophotometer before pulling up the color match in VisualizID™, color visualization software.
This allowed Tyler, to view the color in multiple 3D renderings and light sources. VisualizID is a robust color technology that is used in collision centers across North America. However, it is also available to take advantage of at ColorVision locations.
When purchasing coatings, color match is of great importance. The accessibility to this technology in store provides achieving the highest quality color match at no additional cost.
The ColorVision team mixed the color in PPG Deltron® and supplied Tyler with additional materials needed for his custom restoration job. When asked why he enjoys working with ColorVision, he responded, “the technical knowledge and product options. The guys always help lead me in the right direction if it is something new to us.”
